Description

Protoplast 50 grams

This material is mouldable at 60 degrees Celsius.

In other words, by soaking it in hot water, for example, you get a mouldable plastic that you can shape into all sorts of shapes. Perfect for securing an object, making a handle or using as protection. It is also used to make casting models.

When setting is done, the plastic is heated with hot water or a hairdryer to remove the plastic again.

Reusable. Protoplast can be reshaped over and over by heating it again.

Please note that Protoplast® has the following concerns:

Protoplast can be safely formed and worked on by hand up to 60 degrees.

Above 60 degrees, Protoplast becomes sticky and like a hot glue. It is wise not to do this by hand but to use tools.

Using boiling hot water can lead to burns.

Protoplast up to 60 degrees does not adhere to metals, but it does to various plastics.

If you want adhesion to metals, they must be preheated to above 60 degrees.

The safest way is to heat the Protoplast in water, checked with a thermometer.

You will see the granules soften as the grains become transparent. When these are completely transparent, the Protoplast is soft enough to be taken out of the water.

Do this with tongs or a spoon, then gently knead the excess water out of the wame plastic with your hands. The product is ready to use.
